Dr. Christine Miles graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VA Tech) in 1998. She has worked at several clinics in the Charlotte area prior to opening Heart and Hand Veterinary Clinic in 2007. She currently lives with her black lab, Murphy, and cat, Cosmo.

Dr. Miles has an interest in exotics, which include birds and pocket pets, in addition to working with dogs and cats.

In her free time, Dr. Miles enjoys tennis, softball, and other outdoor activites,

Marie Cox has been working in the Veterinary Field for 16 years as Veterinary Tech Assistant and receptionist. She moved to North Carolina 15 years ago with her husband, Bob, who is in the Army and currently serving in Iraq. They have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. They also have four legged children as well - 3 dogs, Zach (German Short-haired Pointer), Vada (Brittany) and Myrtle (Aussie/beagle mix) who is a rescue dog and the most recent addition to their household.

Along with 3 dogs, they also have 10 cats, all of which are rescues and most of them bottle-raised by Marie.

They have acquired an Umbrella cockatoo(Phoebe), an African Grey(Merlin), a bunny(Sarah) and a guinea pig(Carmel) along the way.

During the year, besides bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, Marie also does turtle rescue and release; both land  and water turtles . At times she has had snappers in her guest bathtub. Most of the turtles injuries are due to hit-by-car accidents but occassionally she gets a call to take in a sick turtle due to malnutrition.

She is an avid collector of Cows(dairy) and milk bottles. Maire has started taking Myrtle to special obedience classes so that she can get her "Good Citizenship Award" and then be certified to do "Pet Therapy". Once Myrtle is certified Marie plans to visit hospitals and nursing homes with her.

Marie also enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with my pets at home.

Nancy Yeager has worked for 7 years as a Veterinary Tech Assistant.  She has 3 dogs and 1 cat at home.  Over the past year she has broadened her knowledge of reptiles and pocket pets and appreciates what good pets birds, pocket pets, and reptiles are.

When not at work she enjoys gardening and cooking.
